    Maj Gen Gopal Das, AVSM

    I am sorry to hear the sad news of the untimely and unfortunate demise of Maj Gen Gopal Das, AVSM. We pray to the Almighty to rest his noble soul in peace and grant courage and fortitude to his near and dear ones to bear this irreparable loss.

    During service, I too being from Signals, had close associations with the General and had a lot to learn from him while at the MCTE, he as an instructor and I a student. Besides, during service elsewhere also, he was always more than willing to help each one of us out both on and off parade. Indeed, he was a true friend, philosopher and guide to his juniors. I personally had the benefit of his well considered and valuable advice on several occasions. In his death, The Corps too has lost a great compatriot.

    Kindly convey our heartfelt and most sincere condolences to Mrs Gopal Das and other members of the family.
